Ancelotti's midfield wishlist

Real Madrid's midfield will not feature many new faces next season unless Carlo Ancelotti decides to bring in some reinforcements.
The coach will have carte blanche on the decision, for one signing at least, which he may use for a central midfielder. The midfield is a marker for the style of play each manager wants to implement and, in this case, Ancelotti may want to bring in a player to help him stamp his seal on Real Madrid.
The problem is that the coach will not be easy to please. For either of the two names being considered to end up wearing white is an almost an impossible mission, particularly when the midfield is not a priority and all efforts will be put into bringing Gareth Bale on board. PSG's Verratti, and Juventus's Vidal are the two players the Italian coach rates most.
Verratti played a key role in Carlo's PSG project and his potential is undeniable. However, the coach has agreed with the French team that he will not make a move for any of its players when he leaves for Real Madrid.
The door to the other top candidate, Arturo Vidal, is not closed as such, but it may as well be. Taking him away from Juventus, where he is one of the cornerstones of the team, will also be very expensive. Manchester City made the Turin-based club an offer of €40 million last season and was turned down.
