NEW Wigan boss Owen Coyle is set to make a loan swoop for Manchester United rookie Nick Powell.
Coyle was officially announced as Roberto Martinez’s replacement earlier this week.
And he is confident of completing a season-long deal for teenager Powell.
The striker has started just two Champions League group games since his £6million move from Crewe last summer.
Despite a lack of opportunities at Old Trafford, United rate the 19-year-old highly and will not let him go permanently.
But they are aware Powell needs regular first-team football to aid his development and that is something Coyle can offer.
Coyle will speak to United chief David Moyes to finalise terms next week
