Liverpool To Use Funds From Andy Carroll Sale To Sign Midfield Trio

Atsu, Alberto and Mkhitaryan are close to becoming Liverpool players.
Liverpool look set to use the £15 million they made from the sale of Andy Carroll to sign three highly-rated midfielders according to the Daily Mirror.
West Ham confirmed that they had signed Carroll on Tuesday, meaning Rodgers could press ahead with his plans to improve Liverpool’s squad.
Rodgers looks set to complete the signing of Sevilla midfielder Luis Alberto for a reported £5 million and the Spaniard could have a medical with Liverpool by the end of the week.
The same could be said for midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who will make the move to Liverpool from Shaktar Donetsk this week for a reported £23 million.
Rodgers had to compete with the likes of Paris St Germain for the signature of Mkhitaryan, who is seen as one of the most promising attacking midfielders in Europe.
Finally, Rodgers has set his sights on Porto winger Christan Atsu, who could make the move to Anfield for a little as £3million.
Liverpool had tried to sign Atsu last summer but Porto slapped a huge price tag on him, meaning Rodgers interest waned.
However, Atsu’s contract expires soon and the Portuguese club want to get something for him or risk the player leaving on a free transfer.
