Moayad Shatat: "We don't need to sell Isco"

  • Isco: "My priority is to keep enjoying my football"

  • No room at the Real Madrid Inn for Isco

A new scenario has presented itself in Málaga regarding its future and the sale of its star player, Isco. The executive vice president of Málaga, Moayad Shatat, has just stated that the transfer of its top player is not an obligation for the club. He knows it will be hard to keep him, even more so after the European U-21 Championships in which he starred with the Spanish team, being named player of the tournament. But the club's finances do not depend on his sale.
"We're in negotiations with Isco. It's true that offers have come in for him, but we're always going to look for the best price for his exit. We haven't received any transfer offers which include the option for him to continue with Málaga on loan for a season. Isco is a very important player, everyone thinks it would be great if he stayed and if the correct offer doesn't come in, we're not going to sell. We don't need to let Isco go cheaply. If it's not enough, we're not going to sell him", Shatat stressed.
As things stand, Real Madrid and Manchester City are the two clubs with the best chance of being able to sign the Málaga player, winner of the 2013 Golden Boy award as the best U-21 European footballer. Málaga, however, has already made it clear that it is not open to a player exchange deal or accepting a sum much under that of his €35 million buy-out clause.
