Former Brazil international, Ronaldo believes that Neymar was right to sign for Barcelona, but adds that he should have made the move sooner because his progress "slowed" somewhat during the past year."
"He was right to leave Brazil, I would have left sooner", Ronaldo said in an interview to Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport".
"I've been saying for two years that he needed to go to Europe. In fact, his progress slowed slightly in the past year, he did not improve as much as he could and should have," he said of Neymar, Barcelona's star signing for next season
"He had to join a big club. He chose Barcelona, which is one of Europe's biggest. It will be good for his development as a player", said the former Barça, Inter de Milan, Real Madrid and AC Milan goalscorer.
