Big chief Ramos

Sergio Ramos has several tattoos around his body, but there's one mark that he's had for many a long year that's invisible to the naked eye: the insignia of the Spanish national squad. Since he made his debut with the U-17s on 19th December 2002, the player from Seville has worked non-stop to try and become one of the team's cornerstones. Well, that day is here.
On Sunday, the youngest European ever to amass 100 international caps will make it 106. After the Confederations Cup, barring a catastrophe, he'll be the fourth most capped player for Spain ever, beaten only by Xavi Hernández (124 on Sunday), Zubizarreta (126) and Casillas (146).
Ramos is the player to feature for the most minutes in Vicente del Bosque's Spain set-up (5,006). Of the 73 games that the coach from Salamanca has been in the dugout for Spain, the centre-back has only missed eight. Sunday night's fixture marks the defender's 30th consecutive appearance for his country. Only seven players have strung together a longer streak: Di Stéfano and Camacho (31), Etxeberria (32), Míchel (36), Arconada (46), Gordillo (51) and Zubizarreta (86).
Sergio is ever-present for Spain these days, the last game he missed coming against Italy in Bari, all the way back in August 2011, because of a back problem. With 105 caps under his belt and nine goals for 'La Roja', Sergio Ramos is the most mature he's ever been in a Spain shirt. Just two matches away from replacing Xabi Alonso as second in line for the captaincy, the Real Madrid defender is now the sort of player that commands the attention of the rest when he speaks.
